Settings
To open the Settings Menu, press Menu button, click the Settings tab above, then choose one of the categories to the left.
There you'll be able to change the time of day, seasons, graphics settings, control and light gun settings, and save or load your room.
To know what each option does and how do they work, just hover them with your pointer, and a tooltip will show up with quick instructions.
This page simply mirrors all the same instructions that you can read in the game, for convenience.
General
Real Time Clock
Sync the game time of day with your computer's real time clock.
Default: Disabled
* This uses a lot more of your CPU resources when enabled.
Clock Time
Set the current time of day.
If you never touch this, a random time will be chosen each time you load the Default Room.
You can also use the Change Time commands to change this.
Season
You can manually choose your preferred season and change how the neighborhood looks.
- Auto (Default): use the appropriate season based on your computer date.
- Fall and Winter will use more hardware resources than Summer.
- Halloween and Christmas will use a bit more on top of vanilla seasons.
* Reload your room or restart EmuVR to apply this change.
Spawn Games at Start
Choose what will be randomly spawned in the room each time you start EmuVR.
- Nothing
- TVs
- TVs and systems
- TVs, systems and games (Default)
* Ignored when loading saved rooms.
Spawn Objects at Start
Disable this to start playing with a clean room.
Default: Enabled
* Ignored when loading saved rooms.
Hide Baseboard
Hide the baseboard.
Default: Disabled
Random Events / Easter Eggs
* For future additions not yet in the game.
- Nothing: Just chill.
- Normal: Not supposed to be spooky, e.g. random sounds from the
house, mom calling, fun interactions and little Easter eggs.
(These are just possible examples for the future, and not in the game yet) - Spooky: Anything could happen...
Don't Use Oculus Audio
(For headphones)
Disable integrated Rift / Quest audio.
Click this if you're using external headphones with your Oculus Rift / Quest and can't hear the games.
You might need to enable this for Virtual Desktop Streaming.
* You'll just need to restart your games, and not EmuVR, to apply this.
Graphics
SMAA
Subpixel Morphological Anti-Aliasing
Reduce pixelated edges at the cost of GPU performance.
Default: Enabled (Desktop) / Disabled (VR)
* Saved separately for VR / desktop mode.
Supersampling Anti-Aliasing
Effectively changes internal resolution to reduce pixelated edges at the cost of GPU performance.
Try SMAA first, it's faster and may be more than enough for you.
Use lower values for a performance boost.
Note: in VR mode, this will be multiplied by Oculus / SteamVR own supersampling settings.
Default: 1.0
* Saved separately for VR / desktop mode.
Fullscreen
Set fullscreen mode.
You can also toggle this by pressing Alt + Enter.
Resolution
Set current screen resolution.
Saves separate values for windowed and full screen modes.
This will affect performance only in desktop mode.
Use Supersampling Anti-Aliasing if you want to affect resolution (and performance) in VR mode instead.
Ambient Occlusion
Set Ambient Occlusion quality. Basically contact shadows.
Higher quality levels will use more hardware resources.
Disable this for a performance boost.

Screen Space Reflections
Not recommended for VR mode, for rendering and performance reasons.
Looks great in desktop mode!
It still looks cool in VR, even if not perfect, so it's worth a try, if your hardware can handle it.

Screen Light Colors
Calculating colors from screens needs a little extra CPU usage.
By default, this is disabled during daylight (7AM to 7PM), as the colors aren't discernible enough under the bright sunlight bouncing around the room.
Because sunlight shadows already use more CPU resources, doing that balances out performance.
You can choose to force color processing for the whole day, or completely disable it.

Screen Light Bounce Quality
This controls how ambient light from screens will bounce all around the room, even where their direct light doesn't shine.
Lower quality levels use less resources.
(Unrelated to Screen Light Colors or Screen Light Shadow Quality settings)
- Off: Disable light bounce.
- Low: Fast lower quality approximation.
- High (Default): Use precomputed Global Illumination.

Screen Light Shadow Quality
With each powered TV and more objects in the room, there's an additional performance impact to render and receive shadows.
Higher shadow quality also needs more power.

Label Texture Resolution
Defines resolution for custom labels textures.
Too many games will consume too much VRAM, even without custom textures.

Lower resolutions allow for more games.

Label Text Resolution
Games without custom labels still generate label textures for the text.
Too many games will consume too much VRAM.

Hide HUD
Click this to hide your reticle and disable object highlighting.
You can toogle it by pressing the H key.
Useful for recording cleaner videos. (But harder to operate)
* This setting won't be saved after restarting EmuVR.
Control
Movement Mode
Switch between Teleport and Smooth Locomotion modes.
- Teleport (Default)
- Smooth Locomotion
* VR mode only.
Instantaneous Acceleration
When using Smooth Locomotion mode, keep this enabled to start and stop moving instantaneously, with no acceleration, according to your comfort preference.
Default: Disabled

Rotation Mode
Switch between Snap Rotation and Smooth Rotation modes, according to your comfort preference.

Set how many degrees you will rotate at each button press.

Alternative Hands Physics
(Experimental)
This changes how hand grabbed objects physics works.
- They won't go through walls and furniture anymore.
- Objects in both hands won't go through each other.
- Objects will have proper weight when pushing through
other objects (no more pushing or lifting a TV with a CD).
But they might be less stable.
Default: Disabled
* VR mode only.
Player Scale
Adjust your own scale in VR mode.
When in desktop mode, which has no 3D depth, use the Adjust Height command instead.
Default: 1.0

Vive Controller Trackpad Mode
- Click and Touch (Default): Works like analogs if you click and continue at least touching.
- Click: Works only while it's fully depressed.
- Touch: Works just by touching.
Affects:
- Walking
- Smooth turning
- Scrolling menus
- Adjusting height
- Left Analog / Dpad in games
Does not affect:
- Teleporting
- Snap Turning
- Face buttons in games
- Laser pointer command presses like switching consoles, changing cables, etc

Useful if you always play with mouse and keyboard only, and don't want to press the Lock Mouse Cursor shortcut every time.

Light Guns
Gun Alignment Offset
Set your custom alignment offset in degrees, rotating your light gun aim up or down, relative to your hands.
Default: 0
* VR mode only.
Grip Button Action
Select both dropdowns to choose which event (left) will trigger which action (right).
Note that when [Releasing Grip], the right side action will be "pressed" all the time unless you hold the grip button, as if it were inverted.
* Triggering Aux buttons can be useful for games like Time Crisis, simulating the foot pedal.
* Recommended for Index controllers: when [Releasing], [Spin Gun]

Haptic Feedback
Enable this and your controller will vibrate with each pull of the trigger.

Enable this and you'll see only one light gun at a time.
You can still shoot with both hands, the light gun will just automatically swap to the latest hand that pulled the trigger.
Default: Disabled
* VR mode only.
Recoil
Set the intensity which your light gun will kick back with each shot.
This is just for visuals, and won't affect your actual aim.
Set to 0 to disable recoil.
Default: 3
* VR mode only.
Save / Load Room
Through this menu you can save and load your room with everything in it.
